Memories Don’t Have Expiration Dates

STARS at May Run Music Fest – I totally should have blogged about this!

I feel like I’ve run out of blog post ideas lately. Weirdly enough, that’s something that I’m now blogging about right now…

Usually when I’m low on inspiration I give myself a kick in the butt by writing a motivating post that reignites my fire. So… here goes.

I’m usually all about ‘getting out, doing things, and sharing memories. Lately, I’ve had no problem with the first two. I enjoy plenty of fun activities that are well worth posting about. The problem: I keep putting off writing posts – because they are going to require a bit more time – and in putting them off I miss the window of relevance.

Social media enables the instant sharing of memories – which is fantastic in the moment. But blogging requires time and editing. Since we’re so used to sharing information in the blink of an eye, it seems weird to post about something that’s… old news. And that’s what most of my activities become by the time I actually sit down to share them.

Or at least that’s what I tell myself.

But in truth, it doesn’t really matter when an event is shared if the writing is interesting. Some of my best posts have been long, nearly forgotten memories. So going forward, I’m going to do my best to keep posting – even if I think the post is old news.
