I have a confession to make – I’m a cleaning addict.
Honestly, it’s one of my little habits that I feel absolutely passionate about. Fifteen minutes an evening and I feel like I’ve moved mountains. That’s about one load of laundry, a bathroom wipe-down, a vacuum spree, or a full home tidy – not too much in to short term, but a huge benefit in the long. And it really helps me to unwind and to feel a sense of closure.
But when it comes to the changing of the season, I start to get ultra antsy. I can’t wait to get started on my Spring Cleaning – the purging, the scrubbing, and the happiness of having a home that’s free from dirt and extras is so easily achieved and feels awesome.
Ok – I know I’m weird. I’ve heard the arguments and have witnessed the eye-rolls. But for me, tidying and relaxing are one in the same. There’s this oddly achievable sense of accomplishment that comes from cleaning out a cupboard. So this afternoon I cleaned out my entire kitchen. And I can’t wait to get started on the rest of my house. It’s not really blog worthy, but who cares? ;)
