A while back I shared a sneak-peek of our DIY wedding favours. Our soy candles, which were handmade with love, cost under one dollar each. They were a charming, colourful addition to our wedding decor and were a pretty treat for our guests to take home.
For colours, we’d planned to stick with just mint and a light-coral, but a dyeing mishap left us with 25 candles that were…orange. We decided to push forward, joking that our October 25th wedding was close enough to Halloween to make use of the extra seasonal colour. Our third batch of candles, gentle blush in colour, really tied things together.
I wanted to package them simple and without significant waste. After a lot of thought, I decided to apply a simple label. Our names and wedding date would remind our guests of the day. As a bonus, I was able to use the left-over labels for return-address stickers for all of my Thank-you notes! Waste not :)
Our candles were arranged in circles on a barrel shaped table, accompanied by a delicate flower arrangement and simple sign inviting our guests to help themselves. Simple, eye-catching, and effective. They were lovely and I’ve heard more than a few words of praise.
I’ve now caught the candle-making bug. They are fast and fun to make – a great craft night activity for sure! Check back for more candle-making projects soon :)
