Lego dates

You know we're adults: we're building this Republic Gunship in order!

Since the wedding ended, Scott and I have found ourselves in an interesting phase of our adult lives. We’re comfortable. We’re employed. And we have a sudden wealth of time to share together without anything stressful looming on the horizon. It’s the honeymoon phase.

Our current obsession: Lego. We can’t get enough of it.

Lego fits very well with our personalities. I’m the natural planner. I like to sort things out and seek out the right pieces, double checking as we go. Scott’s the natural assembler. He can look at a set of instructions and piece them together without flinching. We trade between finding and building fluidly, without argument, singing to pop tunes and enjoying a beer. It’s like returning to my warmest memory of childhood with my very best friend.

I know that things will not always be this idyllic. Life will become busy. Challenges will arise. But for now, I look forward to relaxing nights tucked away with my husband enjoying laughs over a Lego building set.
