Hello and Merry Christmas!
It looks like we’re having a white Christmas here in New Brunswick. I’m actually pretty glad to be here with my friends and family celebrating one of my favorite holidays.
Last year was a very different story.
Last year I was studying for my masters degree in Scotland. And the day that I was scheduled to fly home was one of the worst snowstorms that the country had seen in years. My flight was canceled.
This was one of the hardest times of my life. I had a rough semester, ended a relationship, and was just really homesick. I wanted to go home more than anything, and the only thing keeping me there was a lack of organization.
I spent 2 days calling the airline full time before I could get rebooked on a flight that left Christmas eve. That was actually one of the happiest moments that I can remember. I ended up staying over night in Toronto with my best friend before continuing on home to New Brunswick on Christmas morning. I was more excited to touch down one year ago in my hometown that I have ever been for any other trip.
There is nothing more important to me than family and friends at Christmas time.
Wishing you and your family all the best!
